Filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava is reuniting with actress Konkona Sensharma and producer Ekta Kapoor for her next film after Lipstick Under My Burkha (2017). Sensharma played one of the four leads in the social drama set in Bhopal, while Kapoor distributed the film under Balaji Motion Pictures.

The next yet-untitled film is a coming-of-age story set in Greater Noida. Shrivastava has cast actresses Sensharma and Bhumi Pednekar in key parts.

The women were photographed outside Bandra's Bastian restaurant likely discussing the upcoming project. Shrivastava admitted to having some pressure following up to her first film, but is excited to begin her next film.

“It’s daunting because you don’t know what preconceived ideas people may have after Lipstick Under My Burkha. I like to work with a blank slate. The journey of my debut film was intense but now it’s over,” she told Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid.

Sensharma hasn't acted after Lipstick Under My Burkha, although she released her directorial debut, A Death In The Gunj (2017) last year. Pednekar, who was last seen in the critically acclaimed short by Zoya Akhtar in the anthology Lust Stories (2018), will be seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya (2019) and is part of the star-studded cast of Karan Johar's Takht (2020).
