The theme of Amit Sharma's Badhaai Ho is enough to get the curiousity bugs going, but the music is setting a different tone. With 'Sajan Bade Senti' the film hits the high notes of fun, celebration and a tiny bit of mischief to add some sparkle to the album.
The song's visuals veer around two different styles of love, the young and the old. While Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra's new 'in-love' couple finally decide to take the big step and are high on energy, there is a sweet, low-key romance between Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao as well.
The seniors are lovely as they communicate non-verbally while an entire colony is celebrating their pregnancy.
The song itself is non-chaotic and arresting on first hearing. Dev Negi and Harjot Kaur have the right vivacity and nuance in their voice to make this a fun track to sing along to.
The music by Jam8 is another wonderful element. With a mix of traditional and modern instruments, the song comes alive as a celebration is wont to.
The lyrics by Vayu are a downright riot, and roll off the tongue. Their natural rhythm plays well in the story.
Kaushik-Akash-Guddu had recently collaborated on another fun music album for Loveyatri, and this track has some familiar elements. The magic, however, lies in the combination of the visuals and the music.
Badhaai Ho is directed by Amit Sharma and stars Khurrana, Malhotra, Rao and Gupta and is set to be released on 19 October.
