Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao's Mental Hai Kya release shifted to 29 March 2019

The film, directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, was earlier slated to be released on 22 February.

Kangana Ranaut is bracing for a box-office clash with Hrithik Roshan as Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi locks horns with her nemesis's Super 30 on 25 January 2019.

Now, Ranaut looks set to get involved in another box-office clash, though not of the same magnitude perhaps. Mental Hai Kya, in which Ranaut teams up with Rajkummar Rao once again after Queen (2014), will compete with Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan's Luka Chuppi on 29 March 2019.

Mental Hai Kya was initially supposed to be released on 22 February, a week after Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy.

"Get ready for the ride. We are coming on 29 March 2019," Rajkummar Rao tweeted.

Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, Mental Hai Kya seems to be a mystery drama. Earlier, it was speculated that the film would be a thriller, but producer Ekta Kapoor said the film is neither a comedy nor a psycho-social thriller.

According to a source, some portions of the film are still to be shot. The final schedule will take place in Mumbai. The team earlier shot in London.

Once she wraps up Mental Hai Kya, Ranaut will begin work on Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's Panga.

From the business point of view, shifting Mental Hai Kya to March makes sense, for Gully Boy has the potential to hurt whichever film is released in the following week.
