Bhaiaji Superhit song: Sunny Deol-Preity Zinta's jaded attempt at romance in 'Do Naina' is unsurprising

While Amjad Nadeem's composition, and Yasser Desai and Aakanksha Sharma's voices are good, the visuals fail to add any sparkle to the second song from Neerraj Pathak's film.

The advent of new-age romances seem to have taken something out of melodic compositions in Hindi films. 'Do Naina' from Bhaiaji Superhit feels like a throwback to the early 2000s style with its simple melodic score and lyrics. However, a similarly styled visuals with backlit characters romancing makes it unsurprising.

The visual captures the romantic side of the usually angry Sunny Deol as he first romances his wife, played by Preity Zinta, and then, his heroine, played by Amisha Patel. The jaded nature of the film might also be due to the absence of both actresses from the limelight for the last couple of years. The visual element of the song is a little too plain to be interesting.

The song itself is quite melodic in its composition. Amjad Nadeem's composition plays on his own lyrics, but has a very familiar style that harks back to the simple beat and rhythm pattern. The song is enjoyable, with Yasser Desai and Aakanksha Sharma providing the vocals, but is not a standout. The lyrics, also by Nadeem are nothing special either.

The film is directed by Neerraj Pathak, and is set to be released on 19 October.
