The star cast for cinematographer-director Priyadarshan's dream project, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, a film on the fourth Kunjali Marakkar, a naval chief of the 16th century who valiantly fought against the invading Portugese, has just gotten even bigger with the entry of Keerthy Suresh, one of the top actresses in the Tamil film industry.

Sources close to the actress say that Keerthy has been roped in to play the wife of a Chinese character in the film.

The film will feature Mohanlal in the lead and will also star Tamil actor Prabhu, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, Hindi film actors Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. Besides, the film will also see Pranav, Mohanlal's son make a special appearance.

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, which is expected to have several sea-warfare sequences, will have Sabu Cyril heading the art direction department. The historical is believed to be one of the costliest Malayalam films to have ever been made.

Sources hint that the crew will start shooting the film from November this year.

"Keerthy is very busy with back to back projects in Tamil. She is at the moment working on Vijay's Sarkar and Vishal's Sandakozhi 2. However, she could not say no when Priyadarshan sir asked her to be a part of his Malayalam film. That is because Keerthy has immense respect for Priyadarshan sir who introduced her in Malayalam," the source said,
