Casting director Vicky Sidana has filed a civil defamation suit against actress Kritika Sharma for accusing him of sexual harassment and misbehaviour. The case will be heard in Bombay high court post the Diwali vacations. Sharma had accused Sidana of sexually harassing her in 2013.

A Mid-Day report quoted Sidana's lawyer, Shreyansh Mhatre saying, "The allegations against my client were completely baseless. We have filed a defamation case of Rs4 crore. We will pursue this in court."

Sharma had filed a complaint at the Versova police station on 18 October, after her #MeToo story was revealed for the first time. The officials meanwhile have stated that an inquiry is ongoing.

Sidana's lawyer also added, "My client is a well-known casting director in Bollywood and has done many big projects in the industry. These mischievous allegations have caused a lot of damage to his image and reputation in both his personal and professional life. We believe in the law and judicial system and have moved court to pursue the matter legally."

The court will take up hearings post the Diwali holidays, which end on 9 November.
