Priyanka Chopra's first Sikkimese production Pahuna: The Little Visitors to be released on 7 December

The first look of Pahuna: The Little Visitors was unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival in May last year.

Actress Priyanka Chopra’s Sikkimese film as a producer Pahuna: The Little Visitors will be released on 7 December, as per information shared by the makers. Directed by Paakhi A Tyrewala, the film is produced under Priyanka and her mother Dr Madhu Chopra’s banner Purple Pebble Pictures and co-produced by Children's Film Society, India (CFSI).

Pahuna tells the story of three Nepalese children separated from their parents and how they reunite with them. The film has received a lot of acclaim world over. The first look of Pahuna: The Little Visitors was unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival in May last year.

The makers have released a new poster while announcing the release date. It has a little boy and girl, carrying an infant.

Tyrewala was a spiritual teacher in Sikkim when she developed admiration for the hill state. “I was in Sikkim 13 years ago. I was an Art of Living teacher. I fell in love with the state. Then the story came to me,” she said last year while talking to the news agency IANS.

She had also said that Pahuna is a first proper film to come out from Sikkim. “The whole idea was not the lack of competition, but the fact that we will be the first feature film there. There have been (Sikkimese) films, but they have been more like home videos. There’s no film industry as such,” added Tyrewala.
