Bulbul Can Sing, Bhonsle, Ee.Ma.Yau lead Indian lineup at International Film Festival of Kerala 2018

The festival, which begins on 7 December and concludes on 14 December, will also pay tribute to Milos Forman and Ingmar Bergman.

The domestic film festival season of 2018 is reaching its final leg with the International Film Festival of Kerala 2018 (IFFK). The lineup for the festival includes Rima Das's Bulbul Can Sing, Lijo Jose Pelissery's Ee.Ma.Yau, and Devashish Makhija's Bhonsle.

The festival's international competition section will see Lijo Jose Pelissery's Ee.Ma.Yau and Anamika Haksar's Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Le Jaa Riya Hoon and Zakariya's Sudani From Nigeria and Praveen Morchchale's Widow Of Silence compete with Mostafa Sayyari's The Graveless and Beatriz Seigner's Los Silencios compete for the award.

The Indian Cinema Now section includes a list of films that have earned critical acclaim through the festival circuit this year. These include Makhija's Bhonsle, Nandita Das's Manto and Buddhadeb Dasgupta's Urojahaaj. 

In addition, the festival will pay tribute to two international filmmakers, Milos Forman and Ingmar Bergman, by screening some of their iconic and popular films. 

A special midnight screening will be held for Rahi Anil Barve's critically acclaimed supernatural drama, Tumbbad (2018). 

The festival also has a special section on Malayalam cinema which will see films like Bilathikuzhal (2018), Maayanadhi (2017) and Eeda (2017), among several others. 

The festival will be held at the Tagore theatre in Thiruvananthapuram.
