Actress Kiara Advani and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh will start December by joining the crew on Dharma Productions' Good News.
The film will be directed by Raj Mehta, former assistant director to Shashank Khaitan, who makes his directorial debut with the project.
The film will also feature Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Dosanjh and Advani are reportedly playing a married couple in the film, which marks their first collaboration. While Advani worked in Dharma's Netflix anthology Lust Stories (2018) earlier this year, Dosanjh will be appearing in a Dharma film for the first time.
News about the film broke in July earlier this year, and Dharma boss Karan Johar confirmed the film in an announcement in August.
Johar also took to Twitter to wish the team luck as they began work on the new project.

At a recent media interaction for 2.0, Akshay Kumar confirmed that he would begin work on the film later in December. The actor will be reunited with his Gabbar Is Back (2015) co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The film will also be Kapoor Khan's first project since the hit, Veere Di Wedding (2018). Good News is scheduled to be released in July next year.
