Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chilles Entertainment has filed a caveat in Delhi high court after being served a legal notice by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee on Thursday (29 November) for the upcoming film Zero.
The caveat is a request to the court to not pass an ex-parte order against the film based on any complaint registered.
The reaction by the producers is understandable since they already have had two major PILs against the film for its depiction of Khan's character, Bauaa, wearing a garka kirpan in the film's poster and trailer. BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa had filed a complaint on 5 November, following which advocate Amritpal Singh Khalsa also filed a petition before the Bombay high court to remove scenes depicting Khan wearing the dagger which is considered holy by the Sikhs.
While the film's publicity team contacted Sirsa and persuaded him to take back the complaint stating that the dagger is a katar, Khalsa's petition will be heard on 30 November in the Bombay high court.
Zero is directed by Aanand L Rai, and features Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The film is set to be released on 21 December.
