Actor Anupam Kher, who will next be seen in The Accidental Prime Minister, has prominent roles both in the American series New Amsterdam and in the new British mini-series, Mrs Wilson. While the British show premiered on the BBC One channel, the American aired its fall finale with the ninth episode on 27 November.
BIG day for me. Tonight my new series #MrsWilson premiers on @BBCOne at 9pm. And it is #FallFinale of @NBCNewAmsterdam at 10pm. Gratifying & humbling to be part of primetime shows on top channels of two countries. I love this #IndianActor’s journey. #KuchBhiHoSaktaHai.🤓😎🇮🇳 pic.twitter.com/BG1v27aicx

On the three-part BBC drama, Mrs Wilson, actress Ruth Wilson plays her own real-life grandmother Alice Wilson who discovered she was the third wife of Alec Wilson (palyed by Iain Glen). Set in 1940s- 1960s London, Alec was an MI-6 agent and writer with a murky past. Kher plays Shahbaz Karim, who arrives at his funeral and informs Alice about her husband's former life in India as a novelist.
The American show New Amsterdam has been picked up for a full-season order of 22 episodes by NBC this October. The series regularly averages around 6 million viewers per episode. The actor resigned as chairman from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) due to his international commitments on New Amsterdam and other projects.
Indian-American actor Sendhil Ramamurthy also joins New Amsterdam for major recurring role on the fall finale as Dr Panthaki.
Welcome to the @NBCNewAmsterdam family dearest @Sendhil_Rama . 🙏😍 https://t.co/w1HwDTkged
