Nanda had filed an FIR against the actor on 17 October 2018 at the Oshiwara police station. The writer-producer had accused Nath of raping her in her home nearly two decades ago. The incident took place not long after the actor was sacked from the popular television show, Tara, for misbehaving with the lead actress, Navneet Nishan. Nanda had written the popular 1990s Zee TV serial in which the actor had played a leading role.
Nath had filed a civil defamation case against Nanda on 15 October and sought a written apology, and a compensation of Rs1.
In addition to Nanda, actresses Navneet Nishan, Sandhya Mridul, Deepika Amin also accused Nath of sexually harassing them during shoots.

Last week, the Cine and Television Artiste's Association (CINTAA) expelled the actor from the organisation after he failed to respond to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the Executive Committee.
