Thor star Chris Hemsworth to begin shooting for Netflix drama Dhaka in Ahmedabad


The project also features Manoj Bajpayee and Randeep Hooda.

For fans of the Marvel universe, it might be time to get familiar with the bylanes of Ahmedabad. The city is set to play host to Avengers star Chris Hemsworth.

The actor landed in Ahmedabad last Sunday, and will begin shooting for the upcoming Netflix drama, Dhaka, on 3 November.

The actor who attained stardom after playing the character of Thor in the Marvel cinematic universe is currently in Ahmedabad shooting for the film. Hemsworth is reportedly playing an FBI officer rescuing a kidnapped Indian boy from terrorists in the city of Dhaka. 

The film will be shot in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and later, Thailand, which will provide the setting for the city of Dhaka. The crew have currently set up in the Ashram Road neighbourhood of the city of Ahmedabad. 

This is Hemsworth's second trip to India. He had travelled to India earlier in 2015 on a holiday and visited Delhi, Agra, Goa, Leh and Dharmshala.

The actor has also named his daughter, India Rose, after his affection for the country. Hemsworth has currently finished shooting for the final schedule for the second part of the Avengers: Infinity Wars, which also features Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johannson, Tom Hiddlestone, among others. The film is expected to be released on 4 May 2019. 

Dhaka is produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, also directors of Avengers: Infinity Wars (2018). The team will be shooting in Mumbai and Ahmedabad over a 10-day schedule.
