More than a year after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion released (28 April 2017), director SS Rajamouli is finally ready to shoot his next project – a Telugu multi-starrer film, titled RRR that reportedly stands for Rama Ravana Rajyam, with Ram Charan and Jr NTR. The two actors are teaming up for the first time.

The project, which was officially launched on 11 November in Hyderabad, went on floors earlier today (19 November) at a special set, constructed on a budget of Rs5 crore. Rajamouli took to Twitter to announce the shoot commencement: “RRR starts rolling today.”

Ram Charan and Jr NTR are believed to be playing brothers in this rumoured boxing-based drama, which will be bankrolled by DVV Entertainments on a whopping budget of Rs300 crore.

Not long ago, producer DVV Danayya at a media interaction had said that the film will be a visual treat. “The pre-production work has been going on for months. The art department has commenced work on erecting sets where crucial portion of the film will be shot. The estimated budget of the film will be Rs300 crore. This is going to be a visual treat for fans and audiences alike,” Danayya had said.
While MM Keeravani will compose the film's music, Senthil Kumar has been roped in to crank the camera. The film’s story has been penned by Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad, the man behind blockbusters such as the Baahubali franchise and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). Well-known production designer Sabu Cyril will take care of the sets.

Jr NTR has already started training for his part in the film. After achieving the desired look with international trainer Lloyd Stevens for Aravinda Sametha (2018), the actor has once again joined hands with the trainer for this project.

Last month, Lloyd took to Twitter to announce his involvement with the film. “Great to meet up with legendary director Rajamouli sir to discuss Tarak’s next look for RRR movie. Very excited about this one,” Lloyd wrote.
