Looks like producer Boney Kapoor is all set to join hands with actor Ajith Kumar for a Tamil project. While working together in the Tamil version of English Vinglish (2012), Ajith had promised late actress Sridevi that he would work in one of her husband’s projects.
Apparently, Kapoor was spotted in Chennai earlier this week and it is rumoured that he’s in the city to finalise things with Ajith. Reports also suggest that this could be the Tamil remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu-starrer Pink (2016).
It is already known that Theeran Adhigaram Ondru director H Vinoth has pitched a one-liner story to Ajith. If everything goes as planned, this project could be bankrolled by Kapoor and it will mark his maiden south production.
Ajith has recently finished shooting for his upcoming film Viswasam. At the audio launch of Thambi Ramaiah’s Maniyar Kudumbam (2018) a couple of months ago, actor Siva revealed that Viswasam is being planned as a Pongal 2019 release. Producer Thiyagarajan confirmed the news in his latest interview to a leading daily.
The project, being bankrolled by Sathyajothi Films, features Nayanthara as the leading lady. In a first time collaboration, D Imman has been finalised to compose music. The film also features Yogi Babu, Vivek, Kovai Sarla and Thambi Ramaiah, among others in important roles. Viswasam is being made on a much smaller budget than Vivegam (2017), which had costed a whopping Rs120 crore.
