Even as the industry slowly steps into gear after Diwali, actor Salman Khan has been busy working on Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat. The film will feature Khan, alongside Disha Patani, Katrina Kaif, Tabu, Jackie Shroff among others, and is scheduled to be released next year.

Set in the period between 1940 and the current decade, the film traverses the journey of a man whose life runs parallel to the changes in India. The crew has been shooting in Ludhiana, Punjab, on their latest schedule. The actor posted a picture of himself on set in front of the famed Wagah Border, alongside someone who appears to be Kaif.

The picture seems to be set in the more recent years, with the actors facing the gate that divides India and Pakistan at Wagah.

Directed by Zafar, Bharat will see Khan portray a character who ages over seven decades. As the picture shows, Kaif is likely to play the lead opposite Khan. The actress stepped into the film after Priyanka Chopra walked out of the project.

Bharat is the official remake of the South Korean film, Ode to My Father (2014).
