After the allegations of harassment by actress Niharika Singh levelled against Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the actor has found an ally in his web-series Sacred Games co-star, Kubbra Sait. Sait, who played Cuckoo in the Netflix series alongside Siddiqui, stated that people should recognise the 'toxic difference before we go picking sides'.
Sait's tweet was a response to Singh's long post, shared by journalist Sandhya Menon on Twitter. In her post, Singh accused Siddiqui of being manipulative, abusive and violent while in the relationship.
In response, Sait tweeted 'A relationship gone sour, isn't #MeToo.'
A relationship gone sour, isn’t #MeToo someone needs to recognise the toxic difference before we go picking sides.

I stand by #NawazuddinSiddiqui or #Nowaz as a man.
The actress added that while Singh deserves support for her struggles to come through in the industry, 'categorising her once personal relationship as a #MeToo statement is incorrectly placed.'
I stand by the fact that although Niharika Singh may have had a tough time in the industry, categorising her once personal relationship as a #MeToo statement is incorrectly placed. We as humans are flawed. That isn’t gender specific.

The tweet did not go down well online with the actress receiving a lot of criticism for her stand. However, Sait decided to stick to her guns and defended the stance.
Replying to journalist Janice Sequiera, who took up actress Tanushree Dutta's side during her #MeToo revelation, Sait said, " I know women need to be heard now. Infact now more than ever. But, placing an old flame ablaze into the theory of #MeToo is unfair.'
Trying Janice. I really am. I know women need to be heard now. Infact now more than ever.

But, placing an old flame ablaze into the theory of #MeToo is unfair. It’s apologetic to the women who are finding a professional environment, while we strive to be better personally.
Meanwhile, Siddiqui's spokesperson denied the allegations by Singh. They said, "Interestingly, it is not about the #MeToo campaign, rather it is about their relationship which wasn’t destined ever. Wonder, why Niharika Singh is now accusing the actor who is at its peak of the career knowingly? It is not a lesser known fact that prior to this relationship, she gained publicity out of her troubled relationship and broken engagement with Mayank Singh Singvi [sic]."
Singh has also accused T-Series head and producer Bhushan Kumar of making an inappropriate approach to her.
Siddiqui had written about his relationship with Singh in his autobiography, An Ordinary Life. However, after criticism from Singh, and another former girlfriend Sunita Rajwar, the publisher redacted the references from the book.
