Manish Malhotra set to make Cannes debut

From Aiswarya Rai Bachchan to Sonam Kapoor to Alia Bhatt, many a gorgeous Hindi film actresses have scorched the red carpets at various fashion weeks in India donning designer Manish Malhotra's ensembles.

Remarkably, while many Hindi film actresses have walked the red carpet at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, none of them have put on the couturier's creation. However, this fact is going to change soon, and how! The ace Indian fashion designer is set to make his Cannes debut this year with American model Bella Hadid wearing his outfit at the famed film festival.

Malhotra has been reportedly roped in by noted Belgium-based icecream brand, Magnum, to create a special accessory for their super-model, Hadid.

The designer announced the development on his Instagram account.

“A lovely invite from @magnum for their fabulous party in Cannes. Very excited!,” Malhotra wrote.

Malhotra later said in a statement, “It’s wonderful to be the first Indian designer to showcase the pleasure of socialising with Magnum, and make my debut at Cannes this year. Also, it’s an honour to create something exclusively for Bella Hadid, a true global style icon. The accessory will be inspired by Magnum, befitting true decadence and the art of socialising. I’m really looking forward to it.”

As reported by Vogue, a fashion magazine, apart from Hadid, Malhotra will also design clothes for actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who will be at Cannes to present his upcoming film Manto in the Un Certain Regards section.
