The trailer of Kireet Khurana’s T For Taj Mahal will be launched at the India Pavilion section of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival tomorrow (9 May).
Produced by Sony Pictures Network Productions (SPNP), the film focuses on an illiterate man who tries to bring education to his village.
T For Taj Mahal stars American actress Ali Faulkner, Subrat Dutta, Raveena Tandon, Bidita Bag [of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz (2017) fame], Manoj Pahwa and Pitobash Tripathy.
“I am grateful that SPNP is so committed to the film and is going the extra mile for something they believe in. A platform like Cannes allows the film to be presented to a wider audience, especially given the relevant subject. I am looking forward to the reactions post the trailer launch,” Khurana said in a statement.
Khurana is known for directing India's first 3D animation-live action combination feature film, Toonpur Ka Superhero (2010), starring real-life pair of Ajay Devgn and Kajol, along with Tanuja, Sanjai Mishra and Mukesh Tiwari.
Sneha Rajani, deputy president and head of Sony Pictures, said, “T For Taj Mahal is a story that deserves to be seen by the global audience and a platform like the India Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival allows for the film fraternity across the world to sample it and help us take it as far and wide as possible. I truly hope everyone loves the film and will embrace the intent in its full glory.”
T For Taj Mahal will be released theatrically in India this year.
