Director Umesh Shukla’s 102 Not Out has managed average numbers in its first weekend at the domestic box office. The film, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor, earned Rs16.14 crore approximately, as per figures shared by boxofficeindia.com.
102 Not Out opened with a low number of Rs3.39 crore on Friday (4 May). But the numbers kept growing in the next two days — Rs5.25 crore on Saturday (5 May) and Rs7.50 crore on Sunday (6 May).
The total earnings of the film stands at Rs16.14 crore. Even though, it seems the positive word-of-mouth and reviews are helping the film's cause, 102 Not Out has a long distance to cover to get into the profit zone. As per trade sources, the film is made at a budget of around Rs38 crore. Therefore, it will need to not only maintain its earnings during the week, but also fare better in the next weekend.
Hansal Mehta’s Omertà, which also released on Friday, bombed at the box office. The film has only managed a meagre Rs2.25 crore in the first three days. Though critically acclaimed in festival circuits globally, looks like Omertà will have a hard time in its home turf.
On the other hand, Hollwyood's Avengers: Infinity War continued to rule the Indian box office, earning Rs30.50 crore during its second weekend. The film has so far earned a whopping Rs187 crore in India.
