Director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar’s Marathi movie Bucket List will bring back together Madhuri Dixit Nene and Renuka Shahane after Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! (1994). Dixit Nene was desperate to get Shahane on board when the director suggested her name.
“When Tejas told me that they are thinking of Renuka, I said, ‘She has to be cast. I don’t want anyone else doing that role. I only want her,’” said Dixit Nene during the trailer launch of the film in Mumbai yesterday.
However, Shahane almost refused the film. “There was some problem in between when she was not able to do the film. I took the phone and asked, [strictly] ‘Renuka, you are not doing this film?’ She said, ‘No, I am doing it,’” revealed Dixit Nene laughingly.

Speaking about her relationship with Shahane, Dixit Nene added, “When we had done Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!, we formed a connection as soon as we met for the first time. Both of us are Maharashtrian and we have the same background and culture. [It was] just a very nice connect and it has been maintained,” she said.
She also disclosed that their bonding in Bucket List is different from that in Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!. “In that film we were sisters. Here we have slight different and emotional bond with each other, which is very interesting and beautiful,” said Dixit Nene.
