Khajoor Pe Atke song: ‘Sumdi Mein Jhol’ just another typical item number

The song, featuring Vandita Shrivastava, arrives in an unusual situation when a youngster visits a dance bar with his friends while his uncle is battling for his life in the hospital.

Debutant director Harsh Chhaya’s Khajoor Pe Atke is a drama revolving around a man who is admitted to the ICU of the hospital and how his near and dear ones fake being concerned about him.

The song ‘Sumdi Mein Jhol’ arrives in an unusual situation when a youngster visits a dance bar with his friends while his uncle is battling for his life in the hospital.

Hindi cinema has seen innumerable item numbers where a girl dances seductively to please a group of males. ‘Sumdi Mein Jhol’ is just like any other item number. The naughty lyrics and Kalpana Patowary’s unusual voice gel well with the situation. But there is nothing extraordinary in it.

Vandita Shrivastava, who features in the song, appears more energetic than required. She has made appearances in films like Talaash (2012), Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (2013), The Shaukeens (2014) and Shamitabh (2015).

The clip of the song is quite short and a part of it features the trailer.

The idea of a man battling for his life in the ICU and his relatives being gathered in the hospital bring back memories of Rajesh Mapuskar’s Marathi movie Ventilator (2016).

Khajoor Pe Atke will be released on 18 May.
