Baahubali: The Conclusion bags Rs16.6 crore on opening day in China

Director SS Rajamouli’s epic Telugu film Baahubali: The Conclusion, which stands as the highest grossing film in India, the second highest-grossing Indian film worldwide and the 61st highest-grossing film of 2017, was released in China today. According to Boxofficeindia.com, early estimates peg the opening day gross figure to around $2.5 million (approximately Rs16.6 crore at the current exchange rate).

The opening day collection of Baahubali: The Conclusion is less than Secret Superstar's (Rs48 crore) and Hindi Medium's (Rs21.71 crore) total.

Baahubali: The Conclusion has been released across 18,000 screens in China. Given that it has got twice the number of screens Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan got, the opening day figure seems lower than expected.

The epic film had smashed records in India, garnering nearly Rs1416.9 crore in India (all languages). The Hindi version alone had bagged Rs510.36 crore nett.
