Actor-producers John Abraham and Akshay Kumar have denied that their friendship is going through a rough patch.
The two have had a long-standing friendship with John since they worked together in Garam Masala (2005), Desi Boyz (2011) and Housefull 2 (2012). However, reports had emerged claiming that John had approached Akshay during his battle with KriArj Entertainment over Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran, but Akshay didn't answer his calls. KriArj Entertainment has produced three of Akshay's films — Rustom (2016), Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017) and Pad Man (2018), and perhaps, wanted to know about his experience working with the defamed production house.
Moreover, before Parmanu was released, John had lamented on the lack of support from the industry during his legal battle.
A report in the Deccan Chronicle, a daily, had also quoted a source as saying, “John’s association with Akshay goes back to almost a decade and he thought he would get complete support from Akshay...Akshay had no complaints at all about his association with Prernaa. He saw no reason to join John’s fight against her. Even otherwise, Akshay likes to keep away from spats and controversies as much as possible.”
However, the two actors have ridiculed these reports and cleared that all is well between them.
“Heard that my brother @akshaykumar and I are fighting..he would beat me up :) Sorry to disappoint but NO truth to this. The only explosions happening currently are on screen in Parmanu :),” John tweeted.

Shortly later, Akshay, too, followed suit with a tweet praising John for Parmanu.
"Absolutely. So proud of you brother @TheJohnAbraham, heard you've done a swell job in Parmanu...gonna catch it real soon. Hugs :),” tweeted Kumar.
