Actor Sanjay Dutt might have gone through quite a lot, and will have to relive the life on screen through director Rajkumar Hirani's film, but he has not lost touch with his past. On the occasion of his mother, Nargis' 37th death anniversary, the actor posted a touching tribute to her by sharing an old picture of the two together.

'All that I am is because of you. I miss you!' wrote Dutt.

Nargis passed away on 3 May 1981 after suffering from cancer. The actress's death, a few months before his big debut, is often cited as one of the reasons for Dutt's fall from superstardom. Dutt himself often cited his mother's passing as one of the reasons for his unstable behaviour and addiction to drugs and alcohol.

These experiences will form the core of Hirani's film, Sanju, which will see Ranbir Kapoor take on the mantle of Dutt's rockstar enfante terrible. The film, which is set to be released on 29 June, will have actress Manisha Koirala playing the role of Nargis.

Meanwhile, Dutt has returned to sets for Girish Malik's Torbaaz. The actor is currently shooting in Kyrgyzstan after a long break.
