Priyanka Chopra in A-100 list of most influential Asian Americans 2018

While she did not make it to the Time 100 list of most influential people in the world, Priyanka Chopra has no shortage of honours coming her way. The actress has now made it to Gold House's inaugural A-100 list of influential Asian Americans.

In doing so, Chopra joins a stellar cast of achievers like comedian Mindy Kaling, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, singer Bruno Mars, and Chopra's Baywatch (2017) co-star Dwayne Johnson.

Chopra has been riding a high since 2016, and has only improved her reputation with her recent travels across the globe as UN Goodwill ambassador.

A-100 names 100 of the most influential Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders of the year. The list, compiled by a non-profit organization Gold House, is launched on the 50th anniversary of the day Berkeley scholars coined the term Asian American.

Unsurprisingly, the list includes some of the most powerful and popular Asian Americans in the media, tech, and political spheres. US Senator Kamala Harris, Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Google CEO Sundar Pichai are among the familiar Indian American names found on the tech and politics list.

The selection process began with suggestions from more than 36 Asian American and Pacific Islander community leaders and business leaders. These were then added to, and later whittled down by the committee which included composer Pharell Williams, actor Forrest Whitaker, Michelle Kwan, and Janice Min, former chairperson of the Hollywood Reporter Board.
