Right after returning from her trip to Cannes, actress Rasika Dugal is set to don the khaki for her role as an IPS officer in Indo-Canadian director Richie Mehta's upcoming web-series on the Delhi police. The cast will also include Adil Hussain, Shefali Shah and Rajesh Tailang.

Mehta had directed the critically acclaimed film, Amal (2004) and Siddharth (2013).

The eight-part crime series will be shot over a period of three months and will feature 60-minute episodes based on high profile cases solved by the Delhi police.

In a report to Mid-Day, a tabloid, Dugal was quoted as saying, "I play an IPS officer who has only recently completed a year-long training in Delhi. So, I met several IPS officers as part of preparation. I spent time with them to understand the processes underway in police stations, how they train for a parade or simply hang out. It is easy to relate to people once they start talking. Stories about their training and desire to do."

The series will be produced by India based Golden Karavan in association with Ivanhoe Pictures.

Dugal was previously seen in the short film, Chutney, alongside Tisca Chopra, and has often featured in several short films on the digital platform. Her latest feature film Manto, directed by Nandita Das and co-starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, was in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes Film Festival 2018.
