Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali will collaborate with Reliance Entertainment to form Window Seat Films, a 50:50 LLP (Limited Liability Partnership), to produce films.
“We are proud to have Imtiaz as our partner. He is a person of deep simplicity and humility despite his enormous successes, and we are looking forward to making great movies together,” Amitabh Jhunjhunwala, vice-chairman of Reliance Entertainment said in an official statament.
While Ali said, “There is a common vision that Window Seat Films and Reliance Entertainment share in terms of the content we’d like to make, the kind of stories we’d like to tell and the way we’d like to collaborate in running this partnership. Working under this partnership is like working for myself.”
This is Reliance Entertainment’s fifth such partnership. Earlier it had collaborated with Phantom Films, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Neeraj Pandey and Y NOT Films.
While Ali's last film Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017) didn't do well at the box office, it was rumoured that he is casting for his next project.
“There have been several rumours about the casting of Imtiaz's next film. Imtiaz has many stories in his mind and is yet to finalise the one that he wants to make next. So at this point there is no question of casting for it. We'd like to categorically state that no actor has been finalised for his next film as yet. We request you to wait for the official announcement which will be made as and when we are ready,” Ali's spokesperson said in a statement.
