Director Abhishek Sharma’s Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran opened with an average number yesterday (25 May). The film, starring John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani, managed to earn Rs4.75 crore, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.
Parmanu was at the center of a legal battle between John's JA Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment. Due to which, the makers did not have enough time to generate a pre-release buzz. This could be one of the reasons for the low numbers.
As per trade sources, Parmanu is made at a budget of around Rs45-50 crore. Needless to say, the film needs a big jump on Saturday (26 May) and Sunday (27 May) to get anywhere close to the budget. It will also need a strong run during the coming week, which is always tough.
Meanwhile, Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi continues to impress at the box office. The film managed to earn Rs2.25 crore on its third Friday (25 May). The film's total earnings now stands at an impressive Rs92.93 crore. The Alia Bhatt, Viky Kaushal-starrer has a high chance of reaching the Rs100 crore mark.
Hollywood flick Deadpool 2 saw a drop in collections on its second Friday yesterday as it earned Rs1.35 crore. It’s India total now is Rs42.35 crore.
