The protagonist of this film is a mentally retarded man-child, whose uncontrollable sexual urges pose a challenge for his helpless parents. How often do you see a struggle like that dealt with sensitively and artistically on the big screen?

Director Oak crafts each scene and its colours carefully. The family’s grey world is contrasted by the items of happiness that make appearances in colour. They are easy to miss if you don’t pay enough attention. And with those you miss the many subtle points the director conveys only through imagery. The music and cinematography add to the experience that is Kaccha Limbu.

3. Performances

Ravi Jadhav and Sonali Kulkarni turn in memorable performances as the parents dealing with the drills of life. Bachchu’s challenging role is brought to life beautifully by Manmeet Pem.
