The A-rated Kaccha Limbu ventures into never-explored territory — about a mentally challenged boy's sexual development.

Actor Prasad Oak’s directorial debut Kaccha Limbu packs in memorable sights, sounds, emotions, and technical finesse in 115 precious minutes. Oak makes sure every minute is worthwhile.

Though he slips by offering a predictable ending, Kaccha Limbu is an experience that must not be missed.

While there are many reasons why you should watch Kaccha Limbu, we offer you three to help you make a quick decision:

1. Unusual story

The protagonist of this film is a mentally retarded man-child, whose uncontrollable sexual urges pose a challenge for his helpless parents. How often do you see a struggle like that dealt with sensitively and artistically on the big screen?

2. Technical finesse

Director Oak crafts each scene and its colours carefully. The family’s grey world is contrasted by the items of happiness that make appearances in colour. They are easy to miss if you don’t pay enough attention. And with those you miss the many subtle points the director conveys only through imagery. The music and cinematography add to the experience that is Kaccha Limbu.

3. Performances

Ravi Jadhav and Sonali Kulkarni turn in memorable performances as the parents dealing with the drills of life. Bachchu’s challenging role is brought to life beautifully by Manmeet Pem. You could come to terms with feeling sympathetic towards and being repulsed by him at the same time. But will you be comfortable? Watch Kaccha Limbu to find out.
