The makers of Raid (2018), Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak, have already set out on their next project. The producers of Panorama Studios are now on the verge of adapting endurance runner, Sumedha Mahajan's Miles To Run Before I Sleep into a film. While the casting for the project has just begun, it is likely that the film will revolve around Mahajan's 1,500km run from Delhi to Mumbai as part of Milind Soman's Greenathon in 2012.
The book is written by Mahajan and is a true story of herself, a married, working woman who undertook an extraordinary journey of running 1,500km in 30 days from Delhi to Mumbai .
The book is the latest to be adapted to a film, after Calling Sehmat was transformed by Meghna Gulzar into Raazi (2018). Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan will also be seen in another book adaptation of Zoya Factor (2019), while Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane have picked another bestseller, Sacred Games, as the subject for their upcoming Netflix series.
Pathak, producer and MD at Panorama Studios, says, "Sumedha Mahajan's inspiring story just goes to show that if one has a strong will nothing is impossible. Before even reading the book, when she narrated her journey, we were spellbound and after reading the book and the manner in which she went about overcoming a chronic asthma condition, fighting all odds and emerging a winner, is truly extraordinary."
The studio last produced the Ajay Devgn-starrer, Raid (2018), which proved a box office and critical success.

Mahajan, who suffered from chronic asthma and had an accident six months before the race, managed to complete the marathon in 30 days along with six other runners, including Milind Soman.
Speaking about the project, Mahajan said, "I'm thankful and glad that Mr Kumar Mangat and Mr Abhishek are telling my story. This is my journey as an ordinary Indian woman, born with asthma, overcoming the physical, mental and societal odds to run 1,500km in 30 days. I hope my story inspires and reinforces that with self-belief and determination you can accomplish the impossible."
The rights for the book have been purchased by Panorama Studios, and the studio is currently looking for an actress to step into Mahajan's shoes.
