Parmanu song 'Thare Vaaste' aims to be a patriotic anthem but isn't

Singer Divya Kumar's performance cannot overcome the uninspiring lyrics and average musical score.

Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran was earlier planned as a film without songs, but with the release date looming the makers have unveiled a few tracks in double-quick time.

In these tracks, the visuals are basically rearranged from the trailer. Last evening the makers released yet another track. Titled 'Thare Vaaste', a seeming pun on Thar, the track follows in the mould of the 'Shubh Din' song which also played over rearranged visuals from the trailer.

There is one new addition with the 'Thare Vaaste' track, however: Major Ashwat Raina (John Abraham) introduces his team as the Pandavas. Diana Penty is Nakul, with Raina himself being the team's Krishna. Raina and his team are supposed to carry out six nuclear tests in Pokhran in Rajasthan's Thar desert.

'Thare Vaaste' underlines a soldier’s unconditional love for his country, but lyrcist Vayu does not come up with any inspiring lyrics. Sachin-Jigar’s music, too, is not very uplifting. The song is a little more enjoyable in the second half, with signer Divya Kumar infusing some passion and energy into it.

Overall, while the track suits the visuals used with it in the video, it is unlikely that you will be hitting the replay button time and again.
