The day of the big royal wedding has finally arrived with Prince Harry Windsor set to walk down the aisle with American actress, Meghan Markle at the St George's Chapel in England. Naturally, the royal event has seen a veritable list of who's who from celebrities, actors, statesmen, and sports personalities in attendance. This includes Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, who is a close friend of Markle's. On the special day, Chopra arrived at the chapel wearing a stylish lilac suit dress and a fashionable fascinator to go with it.
The actress was accompanied by Markle's Suits co-stars like Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht, and actor-television host James Corden to the venue.
Chopra's friendship with Markle goes back to 2015, when the two actresses met during a TV luncheon. Since then, they have been close friends, and have often vacationed together.
When the news of Markle's wedding into the royal household broke, Chopra described herself as 'being happy for her friend'. The actress also wrote a touching testimony to Markle on her recent nomination to the Time 100 influential men and women in the world. Describing Markle as 'a relatable young woman with her heart and mind in the right place,' Chopra said that her engagement to Prince Harry had 'in turn made a cynical world believe in fairy tales again'.
While the guests to the royal wedding began arriving early at the venue by 9.30am GMT. The retinue of guests has been pegged at 800. These include some high profile celebrities like Sir Elton John, Serena Williams, David Beckham, and actor George Clooney and wife, Amal Clooney. Upon arrival, Chopra was spotted talking with tennis star, Serena Williams, on her way to the chapel.
The royal family is expected to arrive at 11am GMT. Prince Harry has chosen his brother, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, as his best man. The wedding nuptials will take place at 12pm GMT, after which the couple will take a carriage ride back to the Windsor Castle.
