Race 3 song ‘Heeriye’ borrows from Londonbeat's 'I've Been Thinking About You'

Yet, the song is just average at best. And the less said about Salman Khan's dance, the better.

The trailer of Remo D’Souza’s Race 3 has become one of the most trolled on social media. Will the song ‘Heeriye’, which has just been released, fare any better? Unlikely, if you ask us.

The song is an average dance track largely 'inspired', as Hindi film composers like to put it, by the British-American dance band Londonbeat's hit 1990 single 'I've Been Thinking About You'. Indeed, Salman Khan's good friend Kamaal Khan even croons the line 'I've been thinking about you' at regular intervals.

Otherwise, 'Heeriye' is your typical club song. There is nothing creative about Kumaar's lyrics. The music by Meet Bros (we kid you not!) has two basic tunes that are repeated alternately throughout. Deep Money sounds fine but Neha Bhasin’s voice seems to have been auto-tuned a bit too much.

Although the music and lyrics are not too impressive, they are passable. It is the visuals that constitute the bigger problem for the video, thanks to Salman Khan’s clumsy dance steps. The superstar seems to be putting hardly any effort into it. To make matters worse, his expressions are poor.

Jacqueline Fernandez is the exact opposite. Her energy level is high. And she has an athletic body and she moves it well. But we do wonder why she is made to slither up and down a pole in almost every other dance number.

The Race franchise is known for the ‘Allah Duhai Hai' song. A glimpse of it was also heard in the trailer. We only hope it turns out to be much better than 'Heeriye'.
