Kajol and Riddhi Sen's Eela in theatres on 14 September


The actress will play a single mother in the film written by Anand Gandhi and directed by Pradeep Sarkar.

It won't be long for Kajol fans to see her again on the big screen. Her next film, tentatively titled Eela, is due to be released in theatres on 14 September. The actress is set to play a single mother in the film written by Anand Gandhi and directed by Pradeep Sarkar. Gandhi has based the film on his Gujarati play, Beta Kaagdo.

Young Bengali actor Riddhi Sen who has previously acted in Kahaani (2012), the Hollywood film Lion (2016) and Bhoomi (2017). The talented Sen recently won the National Award for best actor for his work in the unreleased Bengali film, Nagarkirtan.

The film will revolve around the relationship between mother and son and Kajol is reportedly playing an aspiring singer. She last acted opposite superstar Dhanush in the sequel VIP 2 (2017). Her last Hindi film was 2015's Dilwale, directed by Rohit Shetty, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Eela is produced by Kajol's husband, actor Ajay Devgn and producer Jayantilal Gada.
