After the tremendous success of Dangal (2016) and Secret Superstar (2017), young actress Zaira Wasim has yet to sign another film role. Wasim, who won the National Award for Best Supporting Role for her performance in Dangal, might now be playing another emotional role as a young girl afflicted with an immune deficiency disorder in writer-director Shonali Bose's next film.
Earlier this week, it was indicated that Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan would be a part of the yet untitled film, to be co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
The film is based on the true story of young Aisha Choudhary who turned her personal tragedy into a learning experience for others.
The young teenager became a motivational speaker at conferences like INK 2013 and at TEDx Pune. After Aisha died on 24 January 2015 at age 18, her parents Niren and Aditi have continued her legacy.
No official announcement has been made as yet, though it seems the news will be announced any day now.
