PVR Cinemas to organise children’s film festival in 11 Indian cities


Some of the films to be showcased at the festival are Blue Planet II, Wonder, Sinbad: Beyond The Veil Of Mists, Big Hero 6, The Incredibles, Little Singham and Paddington 2.

PVR Cinemas will organise a children’s film festival, called Kids Day Out Fest, from 19 May to 10 June in 11 cities in 27 PVR cinema halls.

The festival is cashing in on the ongoing summer holiday in India and looks to encourage kids to watch films made for them. The films will be screened daily at 10am.

Blue Planet II (2018), Bal Ganesh (2007), Wonder (2017), Sinbad: Beyond The Veil Of Mists (2000), Big Hero 6 (2014), The Incredibles (2004), Little Singham (2018) and Paddington 2 (2017) are some of the films to be showcased at the festival.

An official statement from the organizers read, “Cinema is the leading source of family entertainment in India and there is nothing quite like a trip to the cinema to bring the whole family together. Children are an important constituent among youthful audiences of PVR and PVR aims to capitalize on the summer vacations when kids are free and ready to experience the magic of cinema with great line of kid’s movies and fun activities.”

Fun activities and surprise gifts will also be a part of the festival.
