Dhanush promotes The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir at Cannes

The actor and the film's makers launched new posters of the upcoming Indo-European-American production at the gala film festival.

Actor Dhanush headed to the French Riviera this past weekend to promote his upcoming English film, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir. His long awaited Hollywood debut is due to be released in French theatres on 30 May 2018. He plays Ajatshatru Lavash Patel in the film adaptation of Romain Puértolas's 2014 novel.

Ahead of the film's release, the film's makers and the actor arrived in the sunny seaside city to build up the adaptation and released new Indian posters in English and Tamil. .

The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir's teaser was released in February and is based on the best-selling debut novel, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe. The lead character, Ajatashatru Oghash Rathod, is a fakir in his late 30s who tricks his Rajasthani village to send him to Paris, France to buy a bed of nails from an IKEA store. While doing so, Rathod encounters many new and fascinating characters in his journey.

The film is different than the book as Ajatashatru travels to France to reconnect with his father. Starring Gerard Jugnot, Bérénice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi and Erin Moriarty, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir is due to be released in India in English, Hindi and Tamil.
