The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir's teaser was released in February and is based on the best-selling debut novel, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe. The lead character, Ajatashatru Oghash Rathod, is a fakir in his late 30s who tricks his Rajasthani village to send him to Paris, France to buy a bed of nails from an IKEA store. While doing so, Rathod encounters many new and fascinating characters in his journey.
The film is different than the book as Ajatashatru travels to France to reconnect with his father. Starring Gerard Jugnot, Bérénice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi and Erin Moriarty, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir is due to be released in India in English, Hindi and Tamil.
