Since the news of American television series Quantico's cancellation broke out, fans were eager to find out what actress Priyanka Chopra would choose as her next project.
Chopra is set to reunite with her Dostana (2008) co-star Abhishek Bachchan for writer-director Shonali Bose's next project.
Bose, who has written and directed Amu (2005) and Margarita With A Straw (2015), has based the film on a true story. Chopra and Bachchan will play parents to a daughter born with an immune deficiency disorder.
The film is reportedly inspired by the life of Aisha Chaudhary, a inspirational speaker who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at 13. Chaudhary wrote a book about her struggles, My Little Epiphanies, and has spoken at the 2013 INK conference and at TEDx Pune. Sadly, she passed away at 18 in January 2015. Bose's film would focus on Aisha's parents Niren and Aditi.
Bachchan, who has returned to Hindi films after a two-year break with Manmarziyaan (2018), is good friends with Chopra; the two artistes first worked together in Bluffmaster! (2005) and later in Indian superhero-film Drona (2008) and the Dharma comedy Dostana (2008).
Chopra is already a part of the big budget film, Bharat (2019), where she will be seen opposite Salman Khan.
The untitled film will be co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur who worked together at UTV Motion Pictures. While there is no official confirmation as yet, Screwvala has indicated his involvement in the project by retweeting the news.
