The date is set at last for Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan’s Hindi film debut. Karwaan, which also stars Irrfan Khan, currently undergoing treatment abroad for a tumour, will be released on 10 August, he revealed.
“Finally we are happy to announce a release date for Karwaan! Coming to a cinema near you on August 10th! Cannot wait for you all to watch it,” the popular Southern actor tweeted.
The film was earlier scheduled to be released on 1 June as per an Instagram post shared by Marathi actress Mithila Palkar, who is also making her Hindi film debut with Karwaan. The post has now been deleted.
Apart from marking Dulquer Salmaan’s and Palkar's Hindi debut, Karwaan appears to be an intriguing film. The poster mentions two dead bodies and three lost souls, and the film is said to be about a road trip, where Dulquer Salmaan and Palkar's characters is each transporting a corpse. Irrfan Khan is believed to be playing the driver Shaukat in whose vehicle the bodies are being ferried.
The film has been directed by playwright and theatre director Akarsh Khurana and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Productions.
