Nachiket Samant shoots for Yoodlee Films' next venture, Habaddi

The production house will see another film added to their list of releases in 2018, Nachiket Samant's upcoming Marathi film, Habaddi.

Yoodlee Films have been pushing the boundary in terms of content, and their latest experiment is another step in the direction. The production house has now teamed up with award-winning director Nachiket Samant for his upcoming Marathi feature, Habaddi, which has recently gone on the floors.

Over the long weekend, Samant shot a tricky underwater sequence for Habaddi in the outskirts of Mumbai. The film revolves around the story of 12-year-old Manya. Incidentally, Manya, is played by Karan Dave, who is a non-swimmer, and had to undergo rigorous training in swimming for three months. Dave also undertook diving lessons in order to get the scene right.

Director Samant says, "The scene we shot is an underwater sequence and there is no room for error. We asked Karan who plays the lead in our film to undergo training for the same in order to get it right and he trained three months to make sure he gave the perfect shot."

Siddharth Anand Kumar, vice-president, Yoodlee Films says, "It is really commendable on the part of the young actor to have learned swimming and trained non-stop for the past three months for the underwater scenes. At Yoodle we have a mandate to shoot only in real locations, so shooting underwater couldn't be faked."

We treat filmmakers as partners, not vendors: Siddharth Anand Kumar of Yoodlee Films

Dave was recently seen in Rahul Shanklya's Meri Nimmo, where he played a precocious 12-year-old in love with his neighbour.

Habbadi is produced by Yoodlee Films who believe in the mantra of fearless filmmaking. Yoodlee Films has stuck to its promise of producing and releasing content-driven films, be it Ajji (2017) or Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz (2017) in the earlier months or the soon-to-be-released AscharyaF**kIt (2018) and Noblemen (2018).
