In 2011, director Zoya Akhtar came up with a rather uncoventional road trip drama, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The multi-starrer film won the Filmfare award for Best Film, and Zoya won the Best Director award.

Seven years on, there is talk of a probable sequel. Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif are said to be keen on having a sequel and Zoya is said to have locked in on an story idea, as reported by entertainment portal, Koimoi.com.

Koimoi quoted a source saying, "It is too early to talk about the same. Although the basic premise has been locked, Zoya will start working on the screenplay by end of this year once the final cut of Gully Boy is ready. If all goes as planned, the film would go on floors in the second half of 2019.”

The sequel will take time to roll, as Hrithik has two projects up his sleeves – Super 30 and the Yash Raj Films action film with Tiger Shroff.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara also had Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin,  There is no word yet on whether these actors will be part of the sequel.

Zoya is currently shooting for Gully Boy that stars Ranveer Singh.
