Robert De Niro surprises Anupam Kher with birthday dinner at home

Actor Anupam Kher, who memorably co-starred with Hollywood legend Robert De Niro in Silver Linings Playbook (2012), received the ultimate surprise from his co-star as he invited him home for dinner on his birthday. Kher turned 63 on 7 March earlier this week.

Kher is currently in New York city, De Niro’s hometown, shooting for a new American television series.

He later tweeted a video, recorded by De Niro’s wife, Grace Hightower, in which they sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him. An overwhelmed Kher thanks them both for the surprise and the wishes. Apparently, filmmaker David O Russell, who directed the two in the Oscar-nominated Silver Linings Playbook, was also present at the dinner.

Kher wrote on Twitter, “Thank you Grace & Mr. Robert De Niro for making my birthday the biggest highlight of my entire life. Thank you for the surprise dinner for me at your home. Thank you for singing “Happy Birthday” song for me. Thank you for my ultimate KUCH BHI HO SAKTA HAI moment. #GodOfActing

Kher had hosted a talk show in 2014-2015 called The Anupam Kher Show — Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai where celebrities spoke about incredible life stories.
