Hindi Medium to be released in China on 4 April

It has become the third Indian film to be released in the country this year.

After Secret Superstar (2017) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Irrfan Khan’s Hindi Medium is the latest Indian film to land a release date in China — 4 April 2018. Secret Superstar released on 19 January 2018, while Bajrangi Bhaijaan released last week, on 2 March.

Both Secret Superstar and Bajrangi Bhaijaan have performed well. Directed by Advait Chandan, Secret Superstar has grossed over Rs750 crore during its run, while Bajrangi Bhaijaan got a decent opening weekend in China and earned around Rs55 crore. In India, Secret Superstar made Rs62 crore, while Bajrangi Bhaijaan made over Rs315 crore.

Hindi Medium, produced by T-Series and Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, is directed by Saket Chaudhary. It picked up two trophies at Filmfare Awards held in January 2018 — Best Film and Best Actor (Male) for Irrfan Khan.
