Vetrimaaran's Vada Chennai finally has its first look after three years of being tinkered on. The film has been in the pipelines for three long years, and now the makers have decided to let the fans get a peek of Dhanush's look in the film.

The poster of the film features Dhanush's character, Anbu, scaling what looks like a boat with a knife in his hand. The film is a reference to the vada Chennai (North Madras) which is known for several fishing territories. The poster also carries a grim, tensed atmosphere that fits finely with the tone and theme of Vetrimaaran's films.
Dhanush also tweeted an image of his character stepping out from a police van in a scene from the film. While he wears a big broad smile, a sign of his devil-may-care-attitude of a rowdy, the look also has co-star Aishwarya Rajesh making an appearance.

This will be Dhanush's third collaboration with Vetrimaaran since Polladhavan ( 2007) and Aadukalam (2011).
While there have been several rumours about the film being centred on the rise of a gangster, the director has denied it.
According to reports, the film will revolve around a community which has been living in the same village for 35 years. The story will see the actors take on three different looks to show their changing ages.
Santosh Narayanan has composed music for the film, which will also stars Samuthirakani, Andreah Jeremiah, and Ameer. The film is being produced by Dhanush's own Wunderbar Productions.
