Why Varun Dhawan sacrificed his sleep for October?

It is said director Shoojti Sircar asked the actor to sleep less so that he could look the part for a particular scene in the film.

Varun Dhawan cycling for 10 hours for a sequence in Sui Dhaaga was widely reported. While the readers took the news with a pinch of salt, reports have now surfaced of the actor not sleeping for a week for a sequence in Shoojit Sircar’s October!

It seems the actor was merely following his director’s instructions.

Entertainment portal bollywoodhungama.com quoted Sircar as saying, “I usually do this with many of my actors. I used this during Pink (2016) as well. A couple of scenes with Varun required extensive emotional burst-outs [sic], a performance that showed him quite exhausted, depth and weight in his overall demeanour and eyes, coupled with a tired voice. So I asked him to not sleep at night prior to the scenes.”

Though a bit too early to speculate, Dhawan's look in October is reminds us of his grim look in Badlapur (2015).

October is not the usual romantc film. Directed by Sircar and produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel, the film marks the debut of Banita Sandhu.

The film will be released on 13 April.
