The trailer of upcoming Indo-Bangladeshi romantic comedy Chaalbaaz was released yesterday. The film features the successful pair from Nabab (2017) — Bangladeshi actor Shakib Khan and Bengali actress Subhasree Ganguly in the lead roles.

A remake of Telugu film Subramanyam For Sale (2015), Chaalbaaz has been jointly directed by Joydip Mukherjee and Ananya Mamun. The film also features a host of actors from both the regions — Rajatabha Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Kazi Hayat, Syed Hasan Imam, Atul Sharma and Ashish Vidyarthi in important roles.

According to the trailer, the character essayed by Khan, can go to any length for money, but refuses to let his self-respect down. On his quest, Khan comes across Ganguly and their numerous exploits in London lead them to an unforeseen juncture of life. The trailer suggests that the film is replete with action-oriented sequences and there are comic moments as well.

The crew of the film reportedly did not receive adequate amount of assistance from the Federation of Cine Technicians And Workers of Eastern India (FCTWEI) and got into a lot of trouble while shooting at the various locations in London. Also, the director was left with no choice but to build a crew with members without guild cards and artistes from Hindi cinema.

Chaalbaaz is going to be the first Bengali project for both, cinematographer Gargey Trivedi and choreographer Ganesh Hegde. The music of the film has been composed by Savvy Gupta, who delivered a few hit numbers in Nabab as well.

The title track of the film has been rendered by Arijit Singh and the other two romantic numbers 'Tor Premer Brishtite' and 'Tui Amar Pagli' have been sung by Shadab Hashmi and Akriti Kakkar.
