Hindi film star Shah Rukh Khan is usually mobbed by fans seeking a picture with him. For a change, Khan had the opportunity to play a real-life fan — he has already played a fictional one in Fan (2016) — when he met British-American filmmaker Christopher Nolan in Mumbai today.

Khan posted a picture of his meeting with the Dunkirk (2017) director on his official Twitter handle. He captioned it: “My fanboy moment. Inspiring to hear Mr Nolan & Ms Tacita Dean talk of the virtues of celluloid as an artist’s medium. Thanks Shivendra Dungarpur for having me over.”

Khan and Nolan are seen standing outside the venue. The famed director is seen wearing a black coat on a blue formal shirt while Khan is dressed in a white casual T-shirt and sunglasses.

Known for highly appreciated and successful films like Memento (2000), Inception (2010), Interstellar (2014) and Dunkirk, Nolan is a vehement proponent of the use of film over the digital format.
