Kamal Haasan, Christopher Nolan discuss cinema at Mumbai film event

Actor Kamal Haasan was one of the many film personalities who met British-American filmmaker Christopher Nolan on his recent trip to India. Nolan, along with British visual artist Tacita Dean, are in India for a three-day event titled 'Reframing the Future of Film', hosted by Film Heritage Foundation and Shivendra Singh Dungarpur.
Haasan met Nolan, a fierce supporter of shooting on film in a digital era, at an event in Mumbai and the two seemed to have a deep discussion about cinema. Haasan shared a photograph of them on Twitter and wrote, "Met Mr.Christopher Nolan. Apologized for seeing Dunkirk in the digital format and in return am sending Hey Ram in digital format for him to see. Was surprised to know he had seen Paapanaasam [sic]."

The actor seemed surprised that Nolan had seen his Tamil film Papanasam (2015), a remake of the hit Malayalam film Drishyam (2013). He also promised the director that he would send across his own film, Hey Ram (2000), for him to view digitally.
Haasan is expected to join other film personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Shyam Benegal with Nolan and Dean, this weekend for a roundtable discussion on the future of film in global cinema.
